Youth walk-out at RNC demands an end to the war and poverty draft!

Ruckus's Not Your Soldier project sent network member Isaac Martin to Minneapolis for the month of August at the request of local partner Youth Against War & Racism (YAWR), who wanted help preparing for a youth action during the Republican National Convention.

After a month of ongoing training and preparation, including a week-long training camp (Ruckus-style!) with Ruckus NYS staff members, YAWR pulled off a massive seven-school youth walk-out on September 4th.  Students gathered and marched, staged street theatre with handmade puppets, and speakouts, and demanded accountability from the Republican party, calling for an end to the war in Iraq and military recruitment in schools.
