Training for Queer Youth
The Ruckus Society teamed up with the San Francisco LGBT Center Youth Program to present two trainings for queer youth in both NVDA and Creative visuals, January 20th and 27th, 2010.
Ruckus trainer Lynn S. had this to say about the trainings:
"The
trainees were an inspired and dedicated group whose investment in the
rights of LGBT youth and their struggles with homelessness was
paramount.
Over two nights we developed basic
NVDA awareness and basic de-escalation skills. We worked first on the
strategy and then the tactics of NVDA. This creative group whipped out
a banner in no time and brainstormed endless ideas for actions to rally
others to their cause."
