Lakota Nation Action Camp

September 16 - 20, 2004 Black Hills, SD Lakota Nation Action Camp The Lakota Action Network, Defenders of the Black Hills, and The Ruckus Society came together to train and strategize with tribal and non-tribal citizens to continue defending the Black Hills that the Lakota and many other Nations hold sacred. Training and strategy sessions introduced participants who were introduced to the history of Indigenous resistance and other movements worldwide that have used direct action to defend their Nations. The training closed with a rally at the Mount Rushmore National Monument where words, prayers and songs were offered in defense of sacred land.
